Nigerian entertainment powerhouse, MAVIN Records have just activated their latest signee, a 23-year old rapper, poet and vocalist known as Lifesize Teddy. Speaking on the new signee, MAVIN Records Founder and CEO, Don Jazzy expressed his excitement at the opportunity to share a new artist with Culture Custodian via a press release. It read: “It’s beautiful to finally be able to share the talent of Lifesize Teddy with the world, it’s been a long time of grooming and training to become the artist that she is today. I’m excited for the journey ahead of her.”

Lifesize Teddy cites Naeto C, Sasha P, Eva Alordiah and LadiPoe as inspirations
Coming in as a rapper with a mission to revolutionize contemporary African music and elevate the status of local hip-hop music, it is no surprise that all the artists she states as inspirations were game changers with their delivery and ultimately paved the way for more people like them at the seat that is Nigeria’s music industry.

Lifesize Teddy has been developed by MAVIN’s artist development academy since 2020
A chance IG interaction with Ladipoe led to her opening for him at a concert in 2018 and ultimately Lifesize Teddy was brought into the Mavin Records fold in 2020 when she joined their artist development academy.
Since then, she has been primed for the moment her unveiling will present. She has taken classes in everything from live performances to media coaching all before becoming the label’s first female rapper

The young rapper joins mainstream artists like Burna Boy, Omah Lay, Ajebo Hustlers, Timaya and 1da Banton who rep Port Harcourt. Not many other Nigerian cities can compete.
Her debut project, a self titled EP is set for release tomorrow.
In similar fashion to what we saw with Rema, MAVIN is set to introduce Lifesize Teddy with a self-titled debut project quickly following the artist’s unveiling. The project which features five tracks gives a great taste of everything Lifesize Teddy has to offer and we’re tipping ‘Hypnotic’ produced by Andre Vibez and ‘John Wick’ to be the project’s standouts records.
