Mayorkun scored one of Nigeria’s biggest songs this year with what some will tag a rap track when he released Geng in January. When he announced a challenge with it, some probably thought of it as the typical attempt to get a viral hit by any means possible, but with the right blend of rap and afropop elements, it was not long before the track took off and took a life of its own with everyone who mattered hopping on the beat.
The DMW act wasted no time sharing a video and with what is probably the last leg for the track as he prepares to share his next single, the heavily teased ‘Of Lagos,‘ Mayorkun shares three Geng remixes as well as the original version for a four-track EP. On the Naija Remix, Mayor is joined by Sinzu, YCee, M.I Abaga and Vector. The Africa Remix features verses from Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur, Congolose Innoss B, South African Ricky Rick and Tanzanian Rayvanny and he closes the EP with a UK Remix armed with verses from RussMB and Ms Banks.
