Mayorkun’s fascination with Lagos has severally resulted in love stories that have taken the shape of an entire album tied to the city and several lines inspired by and dedicated to all things Lagos related. It’s 2020 and the self-dubbed ‘Mayor of Lagos’ is still very much immersed in all things Lagos so much so that his latest single, Of Lagos, is yet another tribute to his life as a superstar in Lagos.
Previously used as a teaser, the Fresh VDM single is yet another product of Mayorkun’s journey with experimentation and while it starts on rocky planes, it’s allure comes out as the cadence rises. Mayorkun banks on a series of disparate but somehow harmonious sounds including jazz, that results in a potential hit bound to put a stamp on just how creative he’s perceived.
