Melaye Alleges Fake Signatures On Signatures Collected Towards Recall

Since Dino Melaye’s election as the Kogi West Senator, he has continuously remained in the spotlight for many of the wrong reasons. At different times, it has been for being subject of attempts on his life which then led to moves to frame innocent people as the perpetrators as claimed by Sahara Reporters. He’s also been in the media in tussles about his credentials and his certificates and it seems the voters are no longer having any of it seeing as they have recalled the senator.

Dino has now claimed that the signatures presented to INEC to ensure his recall were a sham. When represented by Malam Abubakar Sadiq, a legislative aide in conversation with reporters in Lokoja on Sunday, the suggestion that signatures of now departed individuals was made.

The assertion that a former aspirant for Governor under APC, late Chief Rotimi Obadofin featured on the list.

“This recall exercise was hatched in Kogi Government House due to the manner in which Senator Dino Melaye consistently challenges and engages the government over non-payment of workers’ salaries and pensioners for over 15 months; and also the constant closure of tertiary institutions,” he stated.

INEC has slated July 3rd as the date to determine the validity of the signatures.
