Mercy Chinwo Shares Third Studio Album “Overwhelming Victory”

In the Nigerian context, Gospel music is a cultural force. Singer, Mercy Chinwo is one of the faces who best exemplifies this. Since the take-off of her career from winning the 2012 edition of the talent show, Nigerian Idols, the singer has become one of the most visible gospel artists in the country. She leverages this form with the release of her third studio album, Overwhelming Victory. 

Overwhelming Victory seamlessly intertwines moments of deep reflection with exuberant joy. Building upon the thematic foundation of her recent EP, Elevated, released on April 14th, which amassed a staggering 66 million streams, clinched the #1 spot on Apple Music’s Top Gospel album charts in Nigeria, and soared to #4 on the platform’s overall album charts in the country. Notably, it marked a historic milestone by becoming the first Gospel album to break into the Top Ten of the Turntable Albums chart in Nigeria.
