Merry-Lynn Pour Emotions In “Mixed Signals” EP 

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Merry-Lynn has consistently harnessed the power of raw emotion as a means of catharsis in her musical journey. 

Born Iyere-Eke Merrylynn Ehinomen, Merry-Lynn’s musical journey began in choir, before she joined the girl ensemble Mercy Singers, which helped her develop her stage presence and voice. During her first year at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, she met producers Veen and Kiienka, leading up to 2019 when she released her debut single, Bless My Heart. 

Merry-Lynn’s much-awaited EP, Mixed Signals is a follow-up to her single, Flowers. Flowers provided an insight into her creative process. This development cemented her place in the music industry and prepared listeners for the Mixed Signals EP. 

A very emotional examination of past relationships, Mixed Signals highlights the complexities of human emotions and love. The EP allows the artist to be honest and open with her music, displaying a range of emotions like love, impatience, wrath, hurt, and happiness, rather than sticking to one theme. Merry-Lynn hopes that by sharing these emotions, the audience will be able to identify with her experiences and sentiments. Her artistic development is reflected in this EP, which is characterized by experimentation and teamwork.
