Since his return to his first love; music, comedian Nasboi has ruled the airwaves with his tracks, Umbrella with Wande Coal, and the hit single Small Money, the comedian has not let his foot off the gas. He is back again with Short Skirt (Fine Girl), a new single that serves as a tribute to the modern African woman’s grace, intelligence, and achievements of women across Africa.
Featuring a catchy hook that’s bound to become an earworm, the track celebrates African women’s multifaceted beauty and strength, Nasboi’s lyrics reference influential female figures such as Ayra Starr, Tems, Simi, Tiwa Savage, and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, acknowledging their roles in shaping the music scene and inspiring the younger generation. Additionally, the song pays homage to the legendary Baba Fryo with a memorable interpolation of his iconic line, “Them go dey denge denge dem go dey pose.”
Coming ahead of his debut EP, Nasboi shares his inspiration for the track: “I wanted to create a song that empowers women and makes them feel confident and beautiful. African women are incredible, and they truly deserve to be celebrated.” His commitment to honoring and uplifting women through his music shines through in this latest release.
Since signing with Eminent Music, Nasboi has experienced a remarkable rise, with his previous singles Umbrella and Small Money achieving notable commercial success, and Short Skirt (Fine Girl) heralding his debut EP, Nasboi is solidifying his reputation as an artist in the industry.
