Alcohol company, Hennessy has released a seven-track mixtape titled ‘The Very Special Tape Volume 1’ featuring MI, Vector and some alums of its previous cyphers.
Known for putting together these types of cyphers as it aims to be at the forefront of pushing Nigerian rap, Hennessy provides emerging artists with a unique platform to showcase their talents.
MI and Vector are joined by Laud Reyes, Vader the Wildcard, Barry Lane, Denle, Payper Corleone, Phlowetry, Eclipse Nkasi, Preacher Kingz, Dr Barz, Dabu The Gemini, Matosan, and Kofi Jamar to create this exquisite body of work which was executive produced by MI and Vector.
In an Instagram post announcing the new mixtape, Vector writes; this project will mark a new beginning and phase for Hip-Hop in Africa “Collaboration”.
The new mixtape drops just a few days after the eighth instalment of the Hennessy Artistry VS Class series premiered. The new instalment which has some of Nigeria’s foremost rappers, Ill Bliss, M.I Agbada, Vector, and Ladipoe as judges, sees them visit three Nigerian cities (Owerri, Abuja, Lagos) in search of Nigeria’s next rap sensation.
