Noisy Streetss Publishing Announces Its Inaugural Longform Fiction List

Noisy Streetss Publishing, a Nigerian independent publisher dedicated to telling authentic stories of young Africans, is expanding into long-form fiction with a 2027–2028 publishing slate of debut and established African novelists. The list marks the press’s first slate of novel acquisitions, following the success of its anthology publishing program.

The new fiction list brings together distinctive African voices and stories for readers in Nigeria, across the continent, and internationally. It follows Noisy Streetss’ sold-out short story collection, Ponmo is a Bird That Has No Place in a Cultured Culinary Sky & Other Stories, and represents a deliberate next step in the press’s growth: expanding the fiction publishing infrastructure for African writers.

With stories about choosing between the life you know and the one you could have lived, fighting systems that were made to destroy you, overcoming fear and finding safety in love, people getting what they need instead of what they want, and chilling encounters with entities that walk among us, Noisy Streetss continues to display its dedication to telling diverse African stories.

The 2027–2028 list includes the latest release from renowned fantasy author Erhu Kome, and debut novels from new and exciting voices Solarin Sodara, Dzifianu Afi Edoh-Torgah, Ayomide Ademola, Chidera Udochukwu, Tonye George, and Anthony Azekwoh.

Editor-in-Chief Modupe Daramola acquired world rights for all novels.

“Moving into longform fiction was always part of the goal for Noisy Streetss Publishing; we always planned to showcase African literature in every shape and form. So, when we opened up our call for submissions, we weren’t shocked to receive a diverse range of talented work. Despite the differences in genre, the manuscripts were authentic to the African lived experience, making it a difficult choice to select only seven titles for our inaugural list. We are so happy with our selected titles; they are stories that show our strengths, beauty, flaws, and excellence, and that is what we want to achieve at NSP. Stories that entertain, teach and most importantly are unapologetically African,” said Modupe Daramola, Editor-In-Chief.
