Watch the First Trailer for Indian-Nigerian love story ‘Namaste Wahala’

Indian filmmaker Hamisha Daryani Ahuka has released the official poster for her upcoming romantic comedy, Namaste Wahala — a love story that unites Nollywood and Bollywood for a Disney-esque romantic fairytale.

“This project is close to my heart as it’s my first movie and it’s also the first movie ever that brings together Nollywood and Bollywood,” Ahuka says. “I am grateful to all the extraordinary cast and crew who helped me make this project a reality.”

Namaste Wahala is a love story that cuts across the cultures of two countries—India and Nigeria. The movie touches various genres, comedy, romance and drama. It is a story with lots of laughter and a few tears about love and family.

The film’s lead characters, an Indian boy and a Nigerian girl who fell in love with each other, are played by Bollywood star, Ruslaan Mumtaz, and Ini Dima-Okojie. “Never thought that someday I would travel to Africa to shoot a film about a Nigerian girl and an Indian boy,” an excited Mumtaz writes on his Instagram page.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Richard Mofe Damijo, Joke Silva, MI Abaga, Broda Shaggi, Osas Ighodaro, and Koye “K10” Kekere-Ekun.

Namaste Wahala opens in cinemas on April 24, 2020.
