Nonso Amadi Maps Path To Globalization With Sophomore EP ‘Free’ & Ebro Interview

Posted on

Built on a culture inspired by non-conformity, fluid and experimental sounds and a penchant for breaking records while lurking between shadows, Nonso Amadi’s artistry is one among few emergents that paved the way for the Afro-Fusion genre; a marriage of African inspired instrumentals and western sounds. Ever since his hit single, Tonight broke through the mainstream, he’s taken advantage of the popularity that beckoned with one solo EP, a joint EP and some stand out features, he seeks to go global with his sound. He prompts this movement with the release of his sophomore EP, Free and an interview on Beats 1’s Ebro In The Morning radio show during which he discussed the future of African music and the Free project.

Flirting with an array of colourful sounds most of which are steeped in African culture, Nonso Amadi regurgitates his affinity for romance themes in 6 different ways and with assistance from romantic music veterans like Simi and Mr Eazi, the EP is a smooth sail from one low-tempo end to the highest point in What Makes You Sure.

Free is yet another critical point in the path Nonso Amadi is mapping for himself and we’re excited for its implications.
