The ‘Not too Young to Run’ movement has said it never supported the use of its platform for the presidential declaration of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.

The Senate President had on Thursday used the platform of the movement to declare his presidential ambition citing as his reason for contesting, “the call of teeming youth who who asked me to run”.

However the movement in a statement released few hours after the declaration expressed its disappointment and grievances at Saraki whom it accused of “usurping a platform designed for young aspirants to dialogue with party leadership to advance his personal political ambition”.

It thereafter condemned Saraki and dissociated itself from Senate President’s ambition.

It said “its identity as a non-partisan citizen led movement dedicated to the defense democracy, political inclusion and transformative leadership.”
