East London-based Afroswing group NSG—which comprises Kruddz, OGD, Papii Abz, Dope, Mxjib, and Mojo—have released a brand new single Nella Rose with visuals. This song is a tip-off the star-studded forthcoming debut album, AREA BOYZ.

Nella Rose is a relevant addition to the extended summer playlist, fusing sunny and energetic Amapiano with the group’s signature mix of Afrobeats, UK and US Hip-hop, and tropical Caribbean inflections. Featuring alongside NSG and local members of their native Hackney, the appealing aesthetic includes an array of easily recognizable faces, including Madame Joyce, Oyinda, Dami Hope, Don’t Jealous Me, and many more.

According to NSG, “This is the first single release from our debut album. NELLA ROSE – A fun, energetic, friendly song that blends our usual style with Amapiano. Be ready to get your dancing shoes on as this is one of our special songs that once you press play you’re definitely going to move your body”.

Slated for release on October 20th this year, NSG is set to put the music industry in a chokehold. The anticipated release date of the 19-track album, which includes exciting collaborations with world-class acts like French rap-star MHD, Nigerian sensations Seyi Vibez and Odumodublvck, Ghanaian Hiphop sensation Sarkodie, Camroonian-American breakout star Libianca, UK homegrown acts Aitch and Tion Wayne, and long-time collaborator JAE5.

NSG recently sold out “Make Afroswing Great Show” at Here At Piternet, during which the group partnered with JAE5, Dankie Sounds and Steel Banglez to put together some of the scene’s biggest and most popular acts such as Kojo Funds, Tion Wayne, Young T & Bugsey, Daarkoo and more. In their recent tours, NSG   graced venues in Europe, Africa, and Canada, killing the moments with exotic performances.

NSG’s consistency is remarkable. From provoking a major quake in underground art in the UK to earning a breakthrough in the mainstream with the 2019 summer hit Options which made it to #7 on the official UK Charts and #1 on Spotify’s UK Viral Chart, the Afroswing group were set on an upward music trajectory. Their successes in 2020 peaked with the release of the mixtape Roots which has been described as a project that “lives up to their chart-topping reputation”, becoming the first act to reach the #1 spot on the Official Afrobeats Chart and winning the  “Visual of the Year” category when the MOBOs returned.

With their plans to dominate the globe, NSG says “We’re not looking at a United Kingdom thing, we’re looking at a global thing”. Having accrued over 730 million streams and sold-out tours across the world, it’s already evident they are on their way to realizing their dream of artistic ubiquity.
