Twin music sensations Oiza x Meyi are set to expand their creative footprint beyond music with their acting debut in Say Who Die, a daring new Nollywood dark comedy directed by Paul Utomi and produced by Lani Aisida. The film will premiere globally on Prime Video on August 29, 2025.
Best known for their soul baring music and undeniable stage chemistry, Oiza x Meyi now take on the challenge of leading roles in film, playing twin sisters Odion and Omon, characters navigating survival, betrayal, and fractured family bonds in a high-stakes world. For the duo, this leap into Nollywood is not just a side step, but a natural evolution of their artistry.
“The misunderstood person, the outcast, people dealing with comparison or the weight of protecting siblings will really connect with this story,” Oiza shares. “Acting gave me the chance to channel emotions in a new way, and that makes this role deeply personal.”
For Meyi, the pivot to film is also about broadening their artistic reach:
“Music has always been our first love, but film allows us to tell stories differently, through silence, through movement, through living as someone else. It’s a different stage, but the performance is still from the heart.”
Producer Lani Aisida, who drew inspiration for the story from his twin aunties, explains why casting Oiza x Meyi was such a compelling choice:
“This is a film about twinhood, family, and survival instincts, realities they live and understand. Their debut is proof that artists can cross mediums when there’s authenticity at the core.”
Director Paul Utomi, known for Country Hard, highlights the duo’s seamless transition from music to screen:
“They approached the roles with the same discipline and passion they bring to music. That spirit carried the entire project.”
Produced under African Stories Untold Productions, Say Who Die signals not only the rise of a bold genre, dark comedy, in Nollywood, but also a new chapter for Oiza x Meyi. By stepping into film, the twins underscore the possibilities of Nigerian artistry, where music and cinema intersect to tell stories that resonate both locally and globally.
