In 2019, with just enough fame and fortune to set the ball rolling, Olakira exceeded the expectations of his growing fanbase when he released his seven-track debut EP, Wakanda Jollof. However, he did not come into full publicity until he released Aya Mi in early 2020 which he followed with his biggest hit yet, In My Maserati which placed him on a lot of our radars. Expectations have been rising since the single’s release, so, about a month ago, he hit the ground running with Sere, a single that spoke to his readiness to reach new heights. Today, he attempts to tip the scales in his favor with the release of his sophomore EP, 4Play.

Despite its briefness, 4Play, a metaphorical title with sexual undertones, is Olakira’s most distinguished work to date with major pop hooks, percussive Afrobeat rhythms, playful vocals, and ultimate feel-good vibes wrapped in four tracks to “to tease and stimulate lovers of good music prior to intercourse” according to the artist. He shares the spotlight with Zuchu on the earlier released Sere and South Africa’s Sho Majozi.
With the release of 4Play, Olakira sets the bar even higher for himself as each track hints at evolution rising to the surface. According to him, this period is an incredibly exciting time a sign of what 2021 holds in store for his brand.
