Falz and Laila Johnson Salami’s new series, On The Couch will see them speak to presidential candidates ahead of the 2019 General Elections. In their debut episode with Fela Durotoye, we got a sense of his intentions for the country and some of the beliefs that guide his thinking. The follow-up episode featured Olasubomi Okeowo, a member of the African Democratic Congress.
The interview highlighted some of Okeowo’s troubling theories and following the backlash it has created in online communities, the candidate whose introduction this served as on the political scene has suggested his withdrawal from the race.
Okeowo’s thinking was riddled by a lack of critical thinking about Nigeria’s problems as well as a failure to understand international relations and the need for it, but then again, when you think Donald Trump is a good fella, it’s a guarantee that you’ll align on a number of views.
