The ancient city of Onitsha once again came alive for the 2025 Ofala Festival, a grand celebration of tradition, pride, and community spirit. The festival, which honours the Obi of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, remains one of Nigeria’s most significant cultural events with dance, colour, regality, and deep-rooted heritage.
This year, Orijin, a brand that has long championed the essence of African originality, took centre stage as the official drink sponsor. More than just a beverage brand, Orijin has built a reputation for amplifying the voices of culture and celebrating the traditions that make Nigeria unique. Its presence at Ofala was therefore not just timely, but symbolic, a meeting point between heritage and modern expression.

From the thunderous rhythms of the drums to the majestic parade of the Obi and his chiefs, the festival grounds radiated with energy and authenticity. Crowds gathered in their finest traditional attire, their laughter and songs filling the air, a living reminder that culture thrives when it is celebrated together.
At the Orijin experience zone, guests connected over shared stories and clinking glasses, celebrating both the festival and the flavours that define Orijin’s essence. The brand created an immersive cultural space, complete with music, dance, and rich storytelling that allowed people to pause, reflect, and truly “toast to culture.”
