In the heart of Osogbo, where tradition meets timeless royalty, a powerful symbol of heritage and identity came alive once again. Orijin, the proudly rooted herbal alcoholic beverage from Guinness Nigeria, paid a reverent courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo, ahead of the 2025 edition of the Osun-Osogbo Festival.
More than a ceremonial gesture, the visit marked the official kickoff of Orijin’s 11th consecutive year as a gold sponsor of one of West Africa’s most sacred cultural celebrations. And in the words of the Ataoja himself, Orijin’s commitment has become much more than corporate, it has become cultural.
“Orijin has become a symbol of authenticity in our land,” His Royal Majesty declared. “Their unwavering presence at this festival year after year shows true respect for tradition and unity.”

From the drums to the regal welcome, the atmosphere in the palace radiated with ancestral pride and the warm embrace of a people whose stories continue to live through festivals like Osun-Osogbo. At the centre of it all was Orijin, bold in flavour, bold in purpose, deeply rooted in heritage.
Onakoya Bankole, Head of Sales Southwest at Guinness Nigeria, who led the delegation, spoke with heartfelt appreciation for the Ataoja and the Osogbo community.
“Orijin is more than a drink, it’s a tribute to heritage, originality, and the strength of community,” he said. “This royal visit is our way of honouring tradition and reinforcing our long-standing bond with Osogbo’s cultural heart.”

And what a bond it is. Over the past 11 years, Orijin has not only supported the Osun-Osogbo Festival but also helped elevate it into a platform that celebrates authentic Nigerian identity. From empowering locals to curating unforgettable festival experiences, the brand has consistently shown that tradition is not just something to observe, it’s something to live.

With this year’s festival set to be one of the most exciting yet, Orijin’s visit to the palace was a powerful reminder of what it means to be culturally intentional. The brand’s unique fusion of bold herbal flavours and immersive cultural storytelling continues to resonate deeply with Nigerians seeking to reconnect with their roots.
