Otherwise Debuts In Lagos With ‘Erudite’ Event

Posted on

Otherwise, a collective for global art and tech, launches its premier exhibition in conjunction with OctaFX & Bamboo titled Erudite. Africa is an emergent key player in the global art market and Otherwise through the intersection of art and tech aims to disrupt barriers and bring you African art from around the world. They believe that art today should be accessible, inclusive and digital and the experiences we curate should incite this culture.

Erudite is set to be an immersive experience, exploring the subject of simultaneous introspection and retrospection. A state of advanced consciousness. In brief detail, the exhibition will focus on each artist’s interpretation of a state of advanced consciousness and their mental metamorphosis influenced by the dawn of the 2020 pandemic.

The exhibition will be led by artist Elfreda Dali and friends Yusuff Aina Abogunde, Tierra Armstrong, Donna Duke, and Yadichinma Ukoha-Kalu. The exhibition will be curated by Seju Alero Mike, founder & lead curator of OSENGWA. Birthed in 2016, OSENGWA is a creative enterprise in the contemporary African art, fashion and lifestyle space. Through its online platforms, printed media and curated events, OSENGWA serves as a space to connect with the Neo-African cultural scene.

Otherwise also aims to highlight the growing digital art scene with a digital exhibition. The exhibition will feature the work of digital artist Niyi Okeowo, and sounds by Yinka Bernie. Erudite will open to the public from Sunday, 12th of December at Alliance Française, Ikoyi, and will feature Erudite Live!, a virtual and physical concert at the Alliance Française amphitheatre on the 13th of December. The concert is a reiteration of the visual experience through sound. Here we explore the same concepts in a whole new form — Other’forms’.

Expect live performances, digital art, and curated sounds by renowned DJs and producers. You don’t want to miss what Otherwise, OctaFX and Bamboo have in store. Get your tickets for Erudite Live!
