Paybac Iboro Goes Back To Basics On 15-Track Album ‘Cult!’

Paybac Iboro popularly known as Paybac has earned his spot among Nigeria’s prolific rappers and MCs and recently transcended borders when he caught the attention of Juelz Santana. The independent rapper was nominated in the 2019  Headies Awards for Lyricist on the Roll for his song IMPLODE with Boogey off their joint album, THE LOST AND FOUND- ALTERNATE ENDING, among many other feats. This month, he goes back to basics on his sophomore album, Cult!, a 15-track project borne out of his need to marry his existence to his roots in Nigeria.

Paybac, with his ability to lyrically emote and reference every and anything from his come up to relationships to politics, goes to town with a wide range of subjects on this project. The 15 punchline-rich tracks are a hard-hitting display of Paybac’s songwriting, storytelling and vocal reach on which he also corners like minds such as Blaqbonez and Barelyanyhook for features that fit with his rhythm and intention.

On personal favorites, Nigeria Suk my Dik and Lupita, Paybac is as brazen and introspective as ever, highlighting his unrestricted pen play that flows in whatever direction his mind dictates, also relatable and awakening in the same vein. Other tracks are testaments of his fluidity.
