She further goes on to spice up the song with popular Yoruba lyrics: “boya lo ma de le, nibi lo ma kusi”, describing her extent of loyalty.
Dexterously switching her delivery between English, Yoruba, and Pidgin, Pearl Cardy’s concise lyrics welcome listeners into her mind and resonate with them on a very relatable level.
In the video for the single, Pearl transforms the simmering ache of the song into a display of lustrous desire. She dominates the glare of the cameras, displaying her carefree energy.
