Professor Paws Joins Forces With Stryka On Unique Afro-fusion Rhythm, “African Life”

Posted on

Professor Paws,  a UK-based Ghanaian artiste and producer, has just released a new single, African Life, featuring budding talent Stryka. This enrapturing song is a well-delivered collaboration that creates a synergy between British and African music soundscapes. A toast to the authenticity of Africa, the song immerses listeners in the beautiful existence of the continent.

Professor Paws is intentional about his sound, as he makes Afro-wave songs with international appeal.  The artiste, who considers Ghana his part-time home, has been on a global quest for the past two years during which he created provisional studios in different locations and graced the homes of fellow artistes. His discography includes 2018 singles, My Way and Ride Or Die; and 2020 song Rum Pa Pa Pum. In 2021, he released Southside Girl and To The Bag. This was followed up with Bruk Up and Sun Shine Bright in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Professor Paws’ cultural impact is significant, as perceived in his feature on the jingle for Sian Anderson’s BBC show and his broad radio play on stations such as BBC Radio, Capital Xtra, YFM, Kiss FM and Ghana Radio. He has topped chats on MTV Base Europe and Boomplay in many African countries, and amassed millions of views and streams across digital platforms.

While he is enthusiastic about creating collaborations with Ghanaian talents, Professor Paw admires the monumental success of Nigerian Afrobeat and hopes to replicate a similar feat in the Ghanaian music industry.

“While I deeply respect Nigerian Afrobeat talent, I sought to amplify the voices of Ghanaian artists, whose brilliance deserves more recognition,” Professor Paws says, musing over his motivation.

African Life captures the joy and prosperity of life on the continent. The song is an articulation of the artiste’s respect for African art and culture, which includes Ghanaian music.

As he goes about promoting his latest single through different mass media outlets both in the UK and Africa, Professor Paws appears ready to cement his position as a trailblazer in the Afro-wave genre.
