Nigerian Dancehall maestro Ruger, revealed that he would be pushing back the release date of his next single, Red Flags, in response to the loss of Davido and Chioma’s son, Ifeanyi. The single was originally scheduled for release on Friday, 4th November 2022 but it was postponed alongside projects like Wizkid’s More Love Less Ego because it wouldn’t have been appropriate to release them at the time as many would call it being “tone deaf.”

According to a post on his Instagram story, Ruger decided to push back the release over what he described as an unsuitable time for the release. In the post he wrote: “RED FLAGS was scheduled to be out tomorrow but I have decided to push the release date further coz this is not actually the best time for its release. I’ll announce a new date next week when the whole team has decided. I love you guys so much and I appreciate you all for looking out for me.”

Today, in a tweet, the singer announced the new release date for the project by saying, “I’m so sorry for letting you listen to so much noise this week, pls forgive me. RED FLAGS drops NOVEMBER 15th with visuals. Thank you.” From the tweet it is obvious that the single is coming out next week, but Ruger has also taking a jab at his competitors calling the songs released this week “noise.”

Ruger, who is signed to the Mavin Records-affiliated label and artist management company Jonzing World which also houses Rema, first announced the release of Red Flags on October 26th and we’re glad it’s almost time for it to come out. The forthcoming record was produced by award winning UK producer, TSB, who has worked with artists like Stormzy, Headie One, J Hus, Dave, and more.
