Following his earlier released collaboration with Rema, Red Dots, Texas native, Samzy heralds his upcoming EP with a new freestyle titled MVP, a bouncy ode to his come up and appetite wetter in anticipation for the soon-to-released debut EP.
The Nigerian born trap star, whose love for Basketball shines through on the freestyle, personifies his status by way of metaphors cutting across the sport and his ultimate life goals. With lines like “Fake niggas don’t show no love when you trynna double up”, he calls out people who never show their support on the come up. He also likens himself to Nigerian born Greek NBA star and 2019 MVP winner, Giannis Antetokounmpo saying, “Please don’t sleep on me like Giannis, bitch I’m MVP”.
MVP is accompanied by a video which was shot in Dallas by Levi Millerborg. It sees Samzy declaring himself as a valuable superstar to look forward to and never to be slept on by the music industry.
Samzy’s debut EP, Trendsetter, is scheduled to drop later this year and is the rapper’s debut solo musical project which he intends to use to break into the Nigerian music space.
