Osabuohien Osaretin, popular known as Sarz, is one of the finest music producers to come out of Nigeria. The producer made hits as far back as 2010—Jahbless’s Jor Oh and Reminisce’s Kako bi Chicken in 2012—and he’s still one of the producers dictating the sound in 2019.
In an interview on Accelerate TV’s The Whole Truth, Sarz discussed his journey, working with Wizkid and Reminisce, the I Like Girls With Trobul EP with Wurld. He also talked about mentoring producers, educating them on the legal and business side of the job, and why he wants to continue to do it.
“Throughout my career, I have mentored so many producers and I will keep doing that,” he says. “Take, for example, Kel P, what it took me over a decade to achieve—international recognition—he already got that, and he’s already in big conversations. That a huge achievement for me and I want to do way more than that.”
