A few months ago, Seun Kuti revealed that he had submitted his latest album, Black Timesfor consideration at the 61st Grammy Awards. Today, the nominees were announced, and the project made the cut in the ‘Best World Music Album’category.

Co-produced by Grammy winner, Robert Glasper, and performed alongside his late father’s band, Egypt 80, Black Times is an eight-track album goes on for more than an hour, it never gets boring, as he channels his father’s charisma and musical adeptness, with the standout tracks being “Kuku Kee Me”, “Theory Of Goat And Yam” and the iconic “Struggle Sounds”.
