UK-based Nigerian singer, Shey has released his debut EP Sonder under Empire.

Sonder features an array of genres including Afrobeats, Electronic Dance Music, and RnB, and features talents like Mira and Tanzanian artiste, Frankie Maston. The EP is succinct, sweet, and has the potential to leave listeners addicted.

In Roots, featuring Mira, Shey is motivated to forge ahead while desiring to go back to his origins which have shaped him over time. Shey teamed up with Mira again in this minimalist serene love ballad Gimme love and in this track, Shey lusts after his subject’s love, presence, and figure. In Pills and Potions, Shey flaunts his versatility on the mid-tempo track with EDM influence. He seeks to be consumed by love while recounting and sharing his experience and journey. Closer featuring Frankie Maston is a club banger – grab your partner, hold them tight and swing your waist. Shey wraps the EP up with the sedative tune Take Me High. He is addicted to the rhythm of his partner’s body and his only goal is to levitate.

Shey created Sonder to drive listeners to return to their original roots to remind themselves of the shared traits, emotions, and joys that embody us. In this theme, Sonder is the awareness that anyone you meet is experiencing a similar vivid and complex reality.

This year, Shey intends to share his music and creativity with the world whilst forming a real and firm connection with the listener as they go through this rollercoaster called life.
