Emerging singer and songwriter, Shun Breezy is blazing his own trail in the Nigerian music industry. Born Oluwaseyi Abiodun Shorunke, the Afro-fusion artist hails from Ogun State, Nigeria.

His exposure to a diverse mix of music across genres including HipHop, Fuji, R&B, Highlife, and Juju genres, combined with his early mastery of musical instruments, ignited his love for music at the young age of 11, by which point he was already a drummer at the local parish of the Celestial Church of Christ. The church, is also renowned for its high-spirited music and concerts so it’s no surprise this was Shun’s first place of comfort with music. Today, he remembers attending these concerts and acknowledges their contribution to his love and appreciation for music.

Over the years, Shun has prepared for his opportunity. He released his inspirational debut single, ‘Na So,’ in 2015 under Major League Music. On the record, featuring veteran musician Dede Mabiaku, Shun B was laser-focused on the goal proclaiming that there will be “no dulling until I reach my target.” He has remained on the grind ever since, with exciting releases like “Kon To Ji,” “Certified Gangster,” “Stoner Girl,” and the Lil Nas X-inspired “Old Town Road.”

Opportunity finally met preparation when the stars aligned for Shun Breezy in the form of a deal with Sony Music West Africa in 2020. Under this new arrangement, he released the impressive singles “Oju Aja” and “Stammer” before taking a hiatus in 2022.

Since then, he has collaborated with several exciting artists and released a collaborative EP titled, “For Love” with Napji, a producer affiliated with DWM and known for his work with artists such as Davido, L.A.X, and Small Doctor. Additionally, he has worked with Raybekah, Chymz, DJ Saki, and others.

In 2023, Shun Breezy was revealed as a contributor on Davido’s much-anticipated fourth album, “Timeless”. He is credited as a writer on the third track, “In the Garden.”

Describing the thrill of working with one of Nigeria’s biggest stars, he said:

“It was an amazing experience for me. Davido is like the dream collaboration for many of us artists, whether you’re singing or writing for him, so the fact that it happened for me really boosted my confidence and morale.”

After a year-long hiatus, Shun Breezy returned with renewed enthusiasm and a co-sign from Davido. His latest single, Personal, showcases his unique style and vocal ability. Produced by Semzi, the artiste blends soulful melodies with captivating beats. He gave a mind-blowing live rendition of the song on Glitch Africa, showcasing his ability to perform live music.

Just as he promised on his debut single, Shun Breezy, also fondly called the D Chosen One, is not stopping until he gets all he wants. With years of experience honing his artistry and expanding his network in the music industry, O’Shun is aiming for the biggest stages worldwide. He also has his sights set on working with the biggest global artists, such as Chris Brown, Burna Boy, and Tems.
