Burna Boy Joins Sia On Revamped Version Of Jazzy Pop Single ‘Hey Boy’

It’s 2021 and the world has fully caught on to the exquisite range Afropop possesses and how remarkable African artists are, Nigerians especially who are now Africa’s greatest music exports. Burna Boy is at the frontline of musicians putting Nigeria on the map and with a slew of acclaimed international features under his belt, he continues to take the international music industry by storm. On his latest collaboration, he joins renowned masked singer Sia, on Hey Boy, her first single of 2021 and the third off her directorial debut project and musical drama film, eponymously titled Music.

Burna Boy stirs this project under the auspices of his African heritage by rooting his identity in his blackness. “Have you ever been with a brother who go take you through any weather?“, is his retort to Sia’s punk driven desire for a lover whose energy matches hers.

This revamped version comes after the original was released in late November 2020 and is accompanied by an animated video that brings life and color to their synchronized words by way of the utopia they dwell in, in the video.

An unlikely pair, Burna Boy and Sia, dispel all doubts about the viability of Hey Boy with a harmonious performance.
