Simi Sheds Unnecessary Weight On SIlky Comeback ‘No Longer Beneficial’

Simi has caught on the wave of extended plays, a move that will serve as the bridge between her hiatus and come back and to kickstart this new phase of her career, she announces the release of her upcoming EP, Restless II which follows the release of her acclaimed sophomore album, Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1 with No Longer Beneficial, a sleek RnB cut that details her aversion to serious commitments much like a good number of her listeners.

Over an atmospheric soundscape rife with synthesized keys, strings that punctuate her words perfectly, and mellow snares produced by Sess, Simi reads a script we’re all too familiar with, one that casts her as the girl who just wants to have a good time, no strings attached.

The confidence with which she eases back to the industry coupled with an obvious evolution is also clear in her delivery. She begins No Longer Beneficial with “can you see me now? Didn’t we already have this conversation babe?” pushy lines that speak to her short fuse and devil may care nature.
