Skepta Taps LD For New Grime Inspired Single; Neighborhood Watch

Skepta has become somewhat of a beacon of light in the Nigerian hip-hop scene, setting the pace for a budding grime scene in the industry which has seen lots of young MCs emulate his eclectic fusion of Afrobeat elements with edgy hip hop material.

With each new release, the UK based Rapper who remains a consistent fixture in the industry specially adored for his afro blend has wowed us, claiming a number of accolades rising from the appraisal of these releases including Pure Water, Bad Energy and Stay With It.

Following the release of the video for Pure Water is the much needed reality check served in form of his usual arrogant wordplay with bars amidst a revolving soundscape of bass drums and siren calls titled Neighborhood Watch for which he taps fellow Grime artiste; LD whose punchlines are a stellar addition to the lengthy lines Skepta has already spewed.

With not more than 5 singles, all of which have been major successes to his name this year, Skepta has remained behind the scenes but still stayed relevant. The groundwork he has laid is strong enough to have his fans anticipate what’s to come in the follow up to Konnichiwa.
