Rumours of the Death of Sky B made rounds today as social media was awashed with tributes but nobody knows what to believe anymore as few persons recently came out to refute claims of the Veteran rapper’s death.
Blogs, Television stations as well as Radio houses reported that the Port Harcourt born rapper was found unconscious at his residence in Owerri in the early hours of today and was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Owerri where he was confirmed dead. Sources claimed he died of heart attack.
However, in a Twitter post made later this evening by a Twitter user, he claimed to have contacted the family of the “I’m Calling (my Bebe)” crooner and was told that Sky B is very much alive and statements will be made available soon.
Sky B is much alive.
We just contacted his family and they confirmed he's alive.
Another user went on to release a WhatsApp conversation between him and a friend to the rapper’s family.

Incase You Are Wondering Who Sky B Is:
The Nigerian Hip-hop industry wasn’t favourable in the 2000s, even with little or no competition but Sky B was one of the few rappers that made waves back in 2007. He delivered the sound that allowed rappers get radio hit.
His “Pray for me” album is a milestone for Nigerian rap. Claims were made that he sold around one million copies – asides pirated copies. While it might seem an outrageous claim, that album was everywhere at the time.
PulseNG reached out to M-Trill on whether Pray For Me really sold one million copies, M-Trill said: “I believe (it sold) more. I was touring then and his music was everywhere; motor parks, barbing salons, everywhere. I was happy for him and it motivated me a lot then. It made me see Nigeria’s target market different.”
Popular hits in his album were “Pray for me”, “Here I am”, “You promise Not To Go” and “I’m Calling (my Bebe)”.
Stay tuned for updates as we hope he is alive and in good health!
