After months of heavy anticipation built up by fans, Oladipupo Emanuel Tosin popularly known as Slim Sailor has released a new body of work titled Caprisun.
Slim Sailor’s EP is a perfect combination of Afro-fusion and Afro-pop. According to the Ghanian-based artist, the project mirrors him and is an opportunity for him to share his smooth dynamic vocals and melodies. The body of work which was produced by Soundz and Lussh ranges from different exceptional sounds and displays the producer’s spectacular musical prowess.
Describing his EP, Slim said, “My EP Caprisun is a combination of amazing songs. Just like the drink capri-sun, my EP has many flavors”.
Slim also said that his Ep is influenced by his childhood experiences and his current stage in life. In Canopy, he expresses his feelings as he details his struggles and relationships. Anytime shows Slim leaning into his newly-found harmonic approach. He said ”When I listened to Anytime, it reminded me of an old friend who I was so scared to ask out for dinner, I hope she is happy now”.
In Lockdown and Stay, Slim needs reassurance that his girl would remain loyal even when things go rough. You is a letter to his lover letting her know he would choose her over again. Hero shows a glimpse of where Slim is coming from and where he sees himself in the future.
Slim hopes his audience will be inspired by his EP. His passion for music came to light when he released his first single Emergency in 2021.
