Sokoto and BoI establish 2 billion fund

The Aminu Tambuwal led Sokoto state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bank of Industry for the establishment of a N2 billion industrial development fund in the state.

Speaking during the signing of the memorandum of understanding in Sokoto on Thursday, Governor Tambuwal said the two parties will provide a billion Naira each with the fund focusing on micro, small and medium scale enterprises.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, the Governor spoke of the Sokoto state government’s determination to give its people the required support to improve their businesses. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to implement the terms of the agreement and assured that the efforts will yield positive results.

On his part the BoI’s Acting Managing Director, Mr Waheed Olagunjo spoke of the synergy created between the two parties providing a veritable platform to stimulate economic growth in Sokoto.
