President Buhari on Friday assured the public that his administration shall not fail to enlighten them on the advancements of their efforts in combating corruption and delivering economic prosperity.

He made the remark when he received in audience while receiving a delegation of the Northern Christian Leaders Eagles Eyes Forum at the State House, and appealed to them as religious leaders not to lose hope in the unity, stability and progress of the country.

The President also urged religious leaders to never withhold the truth about the country from their followers on the basis that “We have nothing to hide because we have no other country but Nigeria.”

“Tell them to give us a chance to stabilize the country,” he continued.  “Your concern for the security, unemployment, anti-corruption campaign and the frequent altercations between herdsmen and farmers are genuine concerns.’

He also expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support gained in terms of the government’s anti-corruption campaign.

“It is saddening that some of those who stole from our national resources put the money in their personal accounts,” he said, noting that those who stole and shared funds meant for the purchase of arms for the military are regretting their actions.

“Those caught in corruption will have themselves to blame,’’ he said.
