The well-known Single-Malt Scottish whisky brand Monkey Shoulder has teamed up with Gilles Peterson and Worldwide FM, a well-known internet radio station, to launch Studio Monkey Shoulder. The program seeks to provide grants of up to 100 million naira in incentives and sponsorship to grassroots music communities in Nigeria, the UK, the US, Taiwan, and India.
Pioneers in the nation’s international music industry have been invited to take part in this project, which will provide them with funding to realize an innovative idea. Worldwide FM and Monkey Shoulder will provide the Studio Monkey Shoulder winning applicants with vital support.
Ieuan Morgan, Global Manager of Monkey Shoulder, discussed the program and stated, “We at Monkey Shoulder think that diversity makes everything better. That holds true for both our whisky and music which encourages originality, diversity, and inventiveness. Our goal is to provide a steady source of support for local music scenes. Together with Gilles and Worldwide FM, we’re excited to discover fresh talent and share their tales.
Monkey Shoulder, a 100% malt whisky designed for mixing, is all about breaking rules. Since its debut in the whisky market in 2005 as the first blended malt whisky designed specifically for mixing, it’s been defying expectations in the category. Small batches of Speyside’s best single malt whiskies are mixed to create Monkey Shoulder Original mixed Malt Whisky, which was created as the perfect whisky for cocktails.
The unique blend gets its name from the Scottish slang for a muscular strain suffered by malt men during the days when whisky was still made by hand. The original blend is fruity, rich, and smooth; it’s strong enough to be combined but still balanced enough to be enjoyed neat. Most recently, Drink International’s 2022 Brands Report ranked Monkey Shoulder as the third Top Trending Scotch Whisky Brand and the second best-selling Scotch Whisky brand.
