With acts like J Hus, Yung Bane and Kojo Funds, the UK’s afrobeat scene has developed in the past few years. With the appreciation of Grime music by many Nigerians, its surprising that we’re yet to see a crop of Nigerian acts dabble in the genre however, producer, Telz with DRB and CE’s Fresh L and Thr33 respectively give a hint of what the future could hold with This N That.
In conversation with Culture Custodian via email. Alli Odunayo aka Telz revealed some of his intentions with the track. He stated that:
“This N That was inspired by Gang Signs and Prayers by Stormzy and I really wanted to create something within grime and house music but in a fashion that has never been heard before”
