As Netflix continues its restock of Nollywood films, it is only right that the biggest film of the year (so far) gets picked. The Bling Lagosians starts showing on Netflix this Friday, October 11, 2019.

The film follows the Holloway’s, one of Lagos most prestigious families. They are friends with the political class who holiday abroad and their sartorial style screams royalty. When the sophisticated matriarch of the family Mopelola Holloway insists on having a flamboyant 51st birthday party despite the family’s huge debt, she sets a series of devastating events into motion. The Bling Lagosians like other upper-class Lagosians stories was well-received. The film grossed over 100 million Naira in cinemas, making it the only Nigerian film to gross over 60 million in 2019.  It was directed by theatre veteran Bolanle Austen-Peters and written by Anthony Kehinde Joseph. The film’s starry cast features Toyin Abraham, Elvina Ibru, Tana Adelana, Alexx Ekubo, Aiyeola Bisola, Osas Ighadaro, Monalisa Chinda and Sharon Ooja.

Other Nollywood films coming to Netflix this month include 93 Days, Moms at War, Tatu, New Money and Up North.
