The Latest ISWIS Podcast Episode ft. Fat Belly Nenye Is Proof That Feminism Is Not Dead

Posted on

So, the girls of the I Said What I Said Podcast got together again this weekend to give us another round of shits and giggles on the nitty-gritty of Lagos living. This time, in tow, was Fat Belly Nenye, the first Igbo-Efik person you probably know. Titled ‘The JJC To Lagos Episode’, Nenye gives the lowdown to her entire experience in moving to Lagos. She definitely also didn’t mince words in reassuring us that Nigeria is the hotbed of culture( special shoutout to the queen-kings that are Efik women). There as usual for the ‘oohs’,’ aahs’ and those witty subs we’ve come to love were Jollz & FK and it’s safe to say that in navigating Lagos living, social intelligence is an essential tool (shalla to the special crew who have embarrassed themselves on ’em Twitter streets. *eyeroll*)

Now, you probably think you’ve gotten the major scoop from the episode but I can readily assure you, there’s so much more to discover in the two-hour-long reel. All I’ll say is I have a renewed appreciation for the level of relative social acceptance that Lagos can now boast of. Let’s not mention the prevalent cringe-worthy moments cause I mean, if there weren’t, would it really be Lagos? One other major win is- thanks to this consistent duo, I can shout out loud about Queen Bey’s awesomeness (y’all can please chill now about those corny conspiracy theories on the ‘Black is King’ movie. Thank you very much)

If I’ve not convinced you enough to go right ahead and have a listen, then you should probably leave Lagos. On the other hand, please stay ‘cause Lagos is the best place to be appropriately pop-cultured for sure. Unless if next week’s episode tells us otherwise… As if…. Till then!
