Tiwa Savage Is The First Female African Artiste To Bag The MTV EMA Best African Act Award

2018 has seen Tiwa Savage go from a musician who creates, stirs and basks in controversy to a pioneer and record breaker in same industry.

Sunday the fourth of November 2018 marked a turning point in the life of the Afropop star who along with a myriad of International artistes including new comer; Camilla Cabello were honored for the impressionability of their artistry.

While Miss Savage has previously been nominated in this category, she hasn’t won until this time when she beat fellow Nigerian, Davido, Distruction Boyz of South Africa and a host of others. Tiwa Savage pulled a Janet Jackson and is now the first African Female Artiste to be a recipient of this Award.

For an Artiste who disassociates from and decries Feminism, her dedication of the Award to African Women was quite surprising. All in All, its a win for us all seeing as the pioneer award has set the pace for recognition of more Nigerian and by large, African women in music and is an inspiration to all those waiting to exhale.
