Rapper Tomi Obanure released a 2-pack single Wouldn’t Be Here Without You, featuring stunning tracks, Get Gone and Not Surprised. This continues his exciting streak this year, which started with the release of his single Sinister II and collaborations with a few of the members of his record label Kinfxlk on Kinfxlkparty and Flatline.
The first song on the project Get Gone begins with whispered words from a woman that invites listeners to pay attention to the words being said, hooking them with its seductive tone. Delivered amidst beats that swirl and crash around the voice, the low tones build anticipation for Obanure’s entry, which does not disappoint. The rapper’s exceptional storytelling skills paint a clear picture of a luxurious vacation with a woman, transporting listeners to a beachfront villa with red wine on hand.
In contrast to Get Gone’s calm and lavish vibe, Not Surprised shows the rapper’s more serious side with the warning “You don’t want any problems please don’t come any closer” as its first line. The track goes on to acknowledge the rapper’s growing success and the attention he’s garnered from people as a result. Obanure also pays homage to his city Abuja, reminding us that it’s “the ‘buj to the world”.
