Watch the Trailer for 'Picture Perfect Series: Raising Jobestina'

Tope Alake’s 2017 hit Picture Perfect is getting a spinoff series. The original film explores the unlikely relationship between Jobe, an area boy and Kunbi, a posh fashion designer; the series will explore how they co-parent their daughter Jobestina despite their different perspectives of life. In the film’s final act, Jobe promised to turn a new leaf, get a job and be a responsible father. According to behind the scenes pictures from Biodun Stephen, he is staying true to that promise, leaving the gritty life behind and taking after his father as a carpenter.

Mary Remmy Njoku and Bolanle Ninalowo are reprising their roles as Kunbi and Jobe respectively. Biodun Stephen, who wrote the screenplay, is replacing Tope Alake as director. The series is a Shutterspeed Project for Rok Studios so it is likely it’ll make its  debut on Irokotv.

Picture Perfect was a huge hit primarily for its nuanced characters and Ninalowo’s excellent performance as Jobe. Stephen hopes to create a Shutterspeed cinematic universe for her different memorable characters—from Jobe to AJ in Looking for Baami to Rofia in her upcoming Rofia Talor Loran. We look forward to how she explores the Jobe character and if Rofia or AJ will be reflected in the series.
