Toyé ‘Takes Time’ to Deliver a Soothing Vibe on New Single

Atlanta-based Afrosoul singer and songwriter Toyé, born Oluwatoyin Oladehinde, released his new single ‘Takes Time’ on the 12th of July. The new single is Toyé’s first this year and it comes just after his successful appearance at the Los Angeles leg of Davido’s WRBLO North American Tour.

You can tell that Toyé took his time to deliver a calming energy on Takes Time. “I know say me, me and you no go break up when we fight that’s why me I say love go take some time,” Toyé sings as he explores the reality of patience when it comes to love.

“So fe di iyawo mi, do you wanna be wifey hmm you can get it all but baby love go take some time” sings Toyé. He’s reemphasizing that there’s no need to rush things, especially matters of love or marriage. With a line that goes, “Oya so mi so, mo tun de be Wande Coal,” he references Wande Coal’s hit song So Mi So.

Overall Toyé’s Takes Time exudes a melodious feeling that leaves you wanting to move your body and embrace the music.

Takes Time is the first single off Toyé’s upcoming ‘WIP’ EP which he has mentioned in various social media posts. Toyé was also credited as one of the songwriters on Davido’s A Better Time album for co-writing Shopping Spree
