Three Thieves, arguably the best Nollywood comedy released this year, is now streaming on Amazon Prime. The film, released in cinemas on October 4, 2019, is directed by actor-director Udoka Oyeka and features an impeccable cast lead by the brilliant trio of Shawn Faqua, Kunle ‘Frank Donga’ Idowu and Koye ‘K10’ Kekere-Ekun.
Three Thieves follow three friends, Oreva (a freelance hustler), Tega (a glorified cameraman) and Rukevwe (a petrol station attendant), who are frustrated with their current jobs. When a low-risk, high-paying gig falls on their laps, they enthusiastically grab it. However, the seemingly simple job quickly turns complicated in the most hilarious manner.
The film is set in Festac, Lagos and is about everyday Nigerians, a departure from the ‘Ikoyi Bridge’ comedies that have populated Nollywood. The script is a joint effort between Dimeyii Sammy, Africa Ukoh and Abba Makama. Cast includes Odunlade Adekola, Charles Okocha, Funnybone, Angel Unigwe and Bucci Franklin.
