With a formidable debut project and release, Apple Music has unveiled Pawzz, as it’s Up Next: Nigeria artist. The Port-Harcourt-born singer-songwriter released his debut EP, Prezz Play, last month and has been featured across several top Afrobeats and Pop playlists, including Naija Hits, Mood, Future Hits, Afrobeats Hits and Africa Rising.

Pawzz joins a class of emerging talent from Nigeria that includes previous Apple Music Up Next artists such as Ninety, Khaid, Novemba, Majeeed and more. However, what sets Pawzz apart from his peers is his penchant for adding subtle rock and country elements to his style of music which you don’t often come across in the Afrobeats territory. Along with the texture of his voice, his personal style, and the ethos behind why he creates the music he does, Pawzz brings a certain rockstar energy that will undoubtedly push him to the forefront of the global stage.

Commenting on the feature, Pawzz said, “It’s a real honour for me, a young kid from Nigeria’s middle belt, to be selected as Apple Music’s Up Next artist.” “I can’t express how grateful I am to Apple Music for their love and support for my music. It just brings so much validation to my journey, the years of sacrifice and striving to achieve my dreams. I couldn’t be happier or more ecstatic about this,” he continued.

Over the last few years, Apple Music has been highlighting rising talent both locally and internationally. With the addition of Pawzz, the Afro-Fusion star brings his unique Afro sound to a global audience that is sure to connect with his “expression of many different emotions but still all in a light, optimistic way,” as he refers to his music.
