Nigerian music heavyweights Wizkid, Davido, Mr Eazi and Burna Boy have been nominated in the African Artiste of the Year category at the forthcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019, the premier Ghanaian music award. They will be going head-to-head with Kenya’s Sauti Sol and South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest.
Speaking on the forthcoming ceremony, VGMA head, Theresa Ayoade said:
“Twenty years is no joke and the awards have attracted a rich cultural mix of Ghanaians, Nigerians, South Africans and other people from other parts of the world who share similar cultural values.”
The award show slated to hold on 18th May saw Davido take home his second VGMA plaque last year alongside a performance from Tiwa Savage.
