Victony Bares His Soul On Two-Part Comeback Single ‘Dark Times’

We often see musicians channel their trauma into their music using their pain as real and raw sources of inspiration. The result of trauma-inspired music is usually almost tangible emotions and, budding artist, Vict0nys’ latest, Dark Times, is no different.

The two-part single, with bouncy instrumentals, a contradiction to the gloomy narrative and experience that prefaced them, matches Victony’s approach to his career following an accident that almost took his life, a literal bounce back.

Pray, the opener, produced by Blaisebeatz is a loopy haze of heady lines that come together cohesively to reveal Victony’s pain. When juxtaposed with the ethereal aura, the fusion of snares and atmospheric synths creates, his words levitates with honesty and heavy emotions powered by both his trauma and ability to connect up to the core, with his music.

As the title suggests, the Tredax-assisted Unfamiliar Realms is an attempt to draw his listeners into the dimensions he cascaded in and out of, after his accident.

Somebody help, somebody help me please”, its opening sentence is gut-wrenching, despite its sparseness. Unfamiliar Realms also serves as a metaphor for the changes he has been put through now that he has seen another side of life.

Of course, there’s no stopping Victony now and Dark Times is just the beginning of a trauma-inspired evolution.
