Since officially setting up in Lagos, Nigeria, last year, WAFFLESNCREAM has been hard at work creating a platform for African skateboarders on the continent.
The skateboarding company has roots in Leeds, UK and Lusaka, Zambia.
The reality of skating in Africa’s most populated city which currently has no skate parks or skate shops not to mention the major lack of pavements and the ever increasing presence of armed officers, is unlike no other scene in skateboarding today.
With talent, defiance and most of all passion, the WAFFLESNCREAM skate team announces their new short edit ‘jide’. The video captures the excitement of the African skate scene and the hometown pride of the city’s skaters. ‘jide’ includes shots of Olaoluwa ‘slawn’, Yinka, Samuel ‘Ziggy’, John ‘Enigma’ as well as Lusaka bred skaters Saidi Lungu and Evaristo Mutale who are both competing at the KDS African Skateboarding Championship in October.
