In his short but very impactful run as a famed Musician, we’ve seen Zlatan take on the roles of a party and street entertainer among others in his video, not quite centering even the most personal narratives on his characters but for his third visual effort off debut album, ZANKU, he executes an emotional run of his journey from grass to grace all by himself.
In the Twitch directed video for Wake Up, Zlatan reveals the different personas that have taken center stage in each defining phase of his life. From an assumed possessed child to a street King to a rising star to a top performer who sets trends, we get a glimpse into all these phases. Though built on mainstream trends, Zlatan sticks to the status quo by imbuing the dramatic video with bits of comedy and his usual antics that makes the video more personal than it appears to be.
