Walo Olapoju is an Abuja-based musician who fuses spectrums of philosophy, emotions and genres into what he calls “the music of the human condition”. The versatile artist, who goes by Walo, the underscore, designs his music to connect with body and soul. His latest body of work named Rechercher does just that.
On his newly released EP, he explores his thoughts and feelings about what it means to be African. From the opening song titled Flavour Explosion to the last – Mean It, Walo takes the listener on a sonic exploration of the identity crisis of post-colonial Africa. Written and produced by him, Rechercher leaves you asking questions and wanting more.
